Introduction

Hello! We are Garry and Teresa Verhoog, dairy farmers in southeast Manitoba, and members of the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach. In the summer of 2008 we went to Ukraine to be part of the Summer English Institute in Dnepropetrovsk, while we were there Garry explored Ukrainian dairy farming. We plan to move to a small village in Ukraine in July 2009 to build and operate a small dairy farm. Our teen sons, Seth and Jonah will be going with us, and our older sons will remain at home to run the farm here. Garry went to Ukraine in November to check out locations. The small village that we are looking at is called Nikolipol, in the Zaporizhzhya district, about a 30 minutes drive from Dnepropetrovsk. Most of the villagers milk a few cows by hand. We hope to assist the local people with producing a better quality product so that they will receive more money for it. We also hope to start some kind of outreach- possibly teaching English, as Teresa has a degree in TESOL. Please contact us for more information or to find an opportunity for us to present our mission to your church family. We would like to invite you to be part of our prayer team.
Please pray for:
Preparation and planning for home and farm in both Canada and Ukraine
That the boys will adjust well to Ukraine and home schooling
The Lord’s guidance in the mission field
