Saturday I decided to try to make Ukrainian apple buns and found a recipe on the Natasha's kitchen website and spent most of the day following the steps to finish them just in time for the meeting at six pm.
It was worth it as everyone was impressed when they ate them, still warm from from the oven. Garry had some games to play and a little talk about Nehemiah and working together.
Sunday morning Garry and I slipped away from the village with Andrey in the van to go to church in Dnepro. He is our "grad student" with a job in Dnepro as a helper in the train maintenance shop, and had come out to the village to visit for the weekend.
We enjoyed worship with our friends at Morningstar church and grabbed a quick meal at Mc D's before going to visit the students at Lena's English school. Garry told the story of Nehemiah and the wall with a similar illustration as he had used for student church the night before, with Jenga blocks and balloons.
Tuesday evening Garry, and most of the students and staff went ice skating in Dnepro at 5 pm. They were back around 7:30 and I had soup, hot cocoa and cake waiting for them.
He ended up driving around most of the day since we went into Zaporosia in the morning for his second electrical treatment for the nerves in his foot.
Monday I was feeling pretty sick with a sore throat from the cold I caught from Garry, so I stayed home while he went to an appointment he had made about his foot with Nellie to translate for him. He had a test for nerve damage and they decided on a course of treatment for ten days.
