 Yesterday I had no photos, so no blog post. However, the team was doing the same thing yesterday and today, and tomorrow, so here you are. They are pouring concrete for the dry cow/big heifer lot. This is part of the building that was started in March to replace the old sheds. They are tying a lot of rebar, it looks like, too.

A big problem for these cows has been the mud in this lot. Especially during the cold wet winters, it would get so deep they were reluctant to leave the sheds to go eat at the feed bunk, and they would lose weight. Another problem was they would get mastitis, an udder infection caused by bacteria, because they would be wet and dirty from wading through the mud. So this new shed and concrete to walk on should help fix this problem. 

They did six truckloads of concrete today, 54 meters. And brought in fill, leveled it, and tied all that rebar. Four trucks coming tomorrow and the rest of the wood came today so they can finish putting on the roof. Garry said Jack was feeling better, not 100%, but was out at the building site all day. Jeremy isn't feeling good now.

Looks like Phil gets help or an audience while baking and the guys get lots of treats, even watermelon.

Tomorrow, Garry will be in Dnipro in the afternoon for some talks he's giving and Saturday evening they leave the farm to visit Kirvoy before heading back to Moldova and home. Just 8 days at the farm but very productive.
