Getting together

On Sunday the little church in the village resumed services after two and a half months of quarantine. There are still limits of gathering sizes and so forth, but most of the normal attendees were there, including us and five of the students, plus baby Angelina. She was a big hit with the older ladies that make up most of the congregation, and after church Valentina got lots of advice.

Garry decided it was a beautiful sunny day, so he pushed the baby carriage down to the church, it's not far. It seemed a lot further on the way home. It got darker and there were a few raindrops during the hour and half service- including communion- and as the final hymn was sang it was really looking like rain, so we started to hurry home. We got soaked in a downpour that even had tiny hail falling, except for the baby in her layers of carriage hood and Moses basket, she was dry and cozy.

After we dried off, Garry and I went to Dnepro to run some errands and have lunch. The outside patios are open. The place we had in mind for pizza was closed, however the one around the corner was open. We headed there after I went into the yarn store, masks required, but open now. I needed more yarn to finish a couple of Christmas projects.

Unfortunately a thunderstorm, complete with downpour arrived just after our fries so we grabbed our stuff and headed to a table under a more substantial awning, as we were getting splashed under our umbrella before our Stromboli arrived. It was good, and we dropped off something at Victors (and dumped a bag of used huggies in a dumpster) before heading home.

Monday morning I helped Garry over at the barn for a while checking cows, as we were leaving the barn he was talking to Max outside when the skies opened again. We had another  thunderstorm later in the morning.

The rest of Monday I was busy cooking, because we had invited the students for the first group meal since we did our outdoor Easter BBQ. I made two huge salads and pizza. Many pizzas.

We got some photos of all the babies and moms and with Garry. Danil objected to sitting on Garry's lap with the babies, so everyone was trying to make him smile..

Tuesday it did not rain. We have started cleaning up the weeds in the gardens and mowing lawns. Wednesday (today) has been more hot and sunny.
