Bowling and basketball

Garry was feeling better today so we headed to Dnepro this morning for a new tire for the wheelbarrow, and more foam for the porch window. Garry flipped the window around before we left because Maxim told him it was upside down...he told him I had said the same thing a couple days ago. Garry was sure the other windows in the house opened at the bottom when he installed it, but its the top- the ones in the house both swing open from the side or tip open at the top if you want less air.

Anyway, we stopped at Nova Lenja on the way into the city, Garry found his stuff while I picked out some tulips, daffodils and rose bushes to plant in the yard this week, before the fall rains arrive.

Then we headed downtown for bowling. The traffic was backed up in several place, it looked like some kind of ceremony taking place at one of the parks we drove past, lots of cars, parked, police and people, and a woman carrying a large bouquet of blue and yellow (Ukrainian colors) flowers toward a statue.

Bowling went well, once we warmed up on the first game, I was pretty competitive, even beat Garry on his bad game. No injuries to report, and we had some Mc Donalds at the mall- no line, which was strange, five minutes later it was jammed as normal in the food court. It is the most popular fast food, the Puzata Hata (it translates as big belly I've been told) cafeteria-style restaurant is always busy too.

Tonight I crocheted more doll dresses sitting on the couch with Box the cat curled up on top of me, while Garry went to play pickup basketball back in Dnepro. He left early as he was breeding a cow in a village on the way there first, and picking up the milk jugs at Victor's house so they will be ready for Sunday. He arrived home before ten, and no injuries to report, it was the first time he'd played in two weeks, since he hurt his knee playing. He went to play on Monday, but the group he plays with had changed their night at the gymnasium.

I was going to put in a bowling photo, but that upload is not going to go tonight!
