It was supposed to be rainy over the weekend and Garry was disappointed because there wasn't much rain. Gray skies, a few showers, but not much real rain. The guys planted sunflowers all day Saturday, in fact.
However Monday morning it was raining. Garry decided it would be a good time to catch up on fixing some problems with equipment like fertilizer dispensing problems on the planter. Since the rain has continued, everything is fixed, and the gates are being welded for the new heifer barn.
Garry thought that it was drying enough Tuesday evening that he was planning on working on building the rest of the trusses. However it started raining again last night, and continued through the day today.
Rain in Ukraine is never a bad thing, even if the barn building has been delayed. About half the sunflower seed has been planted already, Garry is already thinking about how soon it will be coming up. The wheat is growing so fast you almost see it happening.
We drove into Zaporosia this afternoon and it has rained so much that the ads are sliding off the billboards. This happens often when it rains hard here.
It is a little cool and rainy, all the students are saying it's cold. However, hot dry weather will be here before we know it. The rest of the sunflowers and the corn will be planted, and Easter will be here on the 28th (one week after Easter in Canada).
