Thursday

Some photos and a few interesting things about quarantine in Ukraine.

Today we found out that children are not allowed to play on the street, only in their own yards.

Garry and I went on a fast trip for more rolls of tar paper and shingles this afternoon, and as we were entering Nova Lenya in Zaporosia, a masked lady took our temperatures with a forehead reader (I had to move my bangs for her) and told us to wash our hands with the hand sanitizer, for 20 seconds. They had a big jug with a pump. it was watery, not a gel, like what we get in Canada. Employees were wearing masks, most not correctly. Garry said he watched a guy take his off to talk to a customer.

Yesterday Garry had visitors, a couple from Zaporosia drove out with their American /Ukrainian visitors (relatives?) who told Garry they had no idea how or when they will get back to the states.

Today they got the soffit and fascia up on the house, shingled half the roof, and got the new window we bought last night installed. Plus some trench digging, and cementing of the cistern took place. Scott worked on getting ready for the siding.

I made soup (kind of borscht with pemini (they are pork filled dumplings) and egg salad sandwiches with Valentina's help, and then a number of students helped carry it over for lunch. That's vika holding the pot of soup.

Bear has been enjoying leftovers this week.
