While they were gone I had cooking class. We made cakes with waffle layers I bought on Saturday at Ashawn (grocery store, if the malls are closed are the grocery stores in them open?) for Julia's birthday. She's 25 today. Originally we were going to have a party with the building team from Canada, but of course they did not arrive today.
The students also helped make the big pot of soup for lunch and we made fry bread, which they covered with condiments and ate before heading over to the worksite at 10:30. Valentina went down to the store and bought bread and helped me make open faced sandwiches with mayo and kolbassa.
At noon a bunch showed up and helped carry everything over two houses to the worksite.
By the time Garry and Scott arrived I had already served up the students lunch and cut the cakes. However, the guys were all available to unload everything and bring it in the house.
There was stuff piled everywhere. Tuesday afternoon they had installed the door to the house, which locks. so all is safe. Unfortunate that Dima had decided to foam the windows installed yesterday, and the guys had bought a new window for over the kitchen sink, because they decided the small one looked funny at the front of the house. They installed the bigger one this afternoon, after cutting that one back out. They will use the small one in the entryway/ porch they will build eventually.
They were also getting ready to install the plastic ceiling, drilling holes to run the electric through (Jeremy, where are you? We miss our Canadian electrician) and working on the eaves outside.

Tomorrow Garry plans to have some guys on the roof nailing down shingles and some putting the vinyl siding up. After he finished for the day we went to the Nova Lenya and bought a big window that they will add to the living room looking toward the Crawford's house, a different attic pull down stair set (the one the ordered was too wide to go between the rafters) a square, more hammers (several Ukrainian bought ones have had the head break away from the handles) roofing nails (or as close as he could find) and another roll of membrane that is close to house wrap. Since Ukrainians build with brick, blocks or cement instead of wood, its just not for sale like at home.
We also made a run through the KFC drive (through) the inside was dark as the dining room is closed for the quarantine. There were more cars in the parking lot at the METRO grocery store than I have seen in years.
